to her winning ways with her fourth consecutive X Games gold. Canadians
Ashleigh McIvor and Kelsey Serwa grabbed the silver and bronze medals.
McIvor led for most of the final heat until David made a huge move on the
course’s “Butter Box” feature.
“I knew it was going to be super hard to pass on the lower part,” said David.
“I had to work hard on rollers, make myself angry and push as hard as I
could.”
In an exciting mono ski race, U.S. Adaptive Ski Team member Tyler Walk-
er earned his second consecutive X Games gold. Teammate Chris Devlin-
Young led for most of the race but misread the course’s treacherous hip
jump, fell and lost his ski. Walker stuck his line and cruised to victory, flying
off the course’s final jump and across the finish line.
“It’s awesome,” said Walker. “It’s hard to know what to expect in this event,
I happened to be good at jumping and crazy terrain, so I enjoy this event
quite a bit. This event is really big for adaptive skiing because it gets a huge
amount of exposure. People really seem to enjoy watching our event.”
