It’s pond-skimming season, when the rare breed of racer
may be sighted in flight over a very cold body of water such
as this one at Snow King. Here we see the species Randy
Flood, once belonging to the UVM ski team family and who
now nests with Sun Valley as the J4 coach. Fly, Randy, fly!

Ski racing is suddenly hotter than ever this spring. First, Time Out
magazine names Downhill Racer the No. 1 sports movie of all time
— the film featuring Robert Redford beat out such classics as Rocky
and Breaking Away. (And, yes, even Talladega Nights.) Then Esquire
magazine pits Julia Mancuso against Lindsey Vonn in its March
Madness-inspired “Sexiest Woman Alive” contest. Now come some
sizzling hot images of Manuela Moelgg. Joining the ranks of former
Lange Girl athletes Julia Mancuso, Resi Stiegler, the 26-year-old
Italian ski racer Manuela Moelgg recently earned honors for 2010.

At the Vancouver Games, USSA’s vice president of communications, Tom Kelly, lost another bet. Moguls skier Shannon
Bahrke’s Olympic bronze medal earned him this creative dye
job. (Hey, c’mon, the stylist didn’t have much to work with.)
