A look at what’s in store for World Cup racers — and fans — during the pursuit for
crystal globes in the 2010-2011 season. By Greg Needell

On the weekend of Oct. 22-24, the FIS World Cup will open with one
GS each for men and women. Soelden is a tremendously popular
race with the hard-core Austrian, Italian, German and Swiss fans
as it is near all four borders tucked in the southwest corner of Tirol.
I have seen upwards of 20,000 fans pack into Soelden. The town
turns into a three-day bash welcoming in the new race season.
