Ski Racing’s Hank McKee Wins
FIS Journalist Award
While filmmaking has the Oscars, ski writing has the crystal
statuettes of the FIS Journalist Award. And at a USST alumni
gathering at Beaver Creek on Saturday, Dec. 4, SR senior
editor Hank McKee was presented with the prestigious award
thanks to his three-plus decades of reporting and writing on ski
racing. (The FIS Journalist Award recognizes career contributions
to the sport on a worldwide basis.) McKee is the 10th American
journalist honored with the award, and joining him during the ceremony were past recipients
Joe Jay Jalbert (far left), Bob Beattie and Gary Black Jr. (far right). “We are blessed to have
journalists like Hank,” said Tom Kelly, chairman of the FIS PR and Mass Media Committee, in
presenting the award, “who put a personal passion into their coverage of our sport.”
