Downtime with
Chemmy Alcott
Injured British racer Chemmy Alcott (she broke her
leg in the Lake Louise downhill), took time away
from her busy rehab schedule to be a guest on ESPN
London’s Talk of the Terrace soccer analysis show.
Though admittedly not an avid soccer fan, Alcott,
one of the World Cup’s most lively and colorful personalities, held her own on the show, telling stories of
strength training at the Chelsea Club facility. Alcott
shared with Terrace hosts the story of how when soccer icon Didier Drogba insulted her by asking if she
was a weight lifter, she came right back: “So I said,
‘Are you a long-distance runner?” Nice, Chemmy.
