Fogged Up
American J3s face tough conditions
at Slovenia’s Pokal Loka Races
The foggy GS start.
SPIRITS WERE HIGH heading into the
Pokal Loka International Children’s
Race, but the clouds were low — way low.
That intense fog, combined with warm
weather and bumpy course conditions,
pretty much spoiled the weekend of
Feb. 19 and 20 for Team USA.
One bright spot, according to the USSA’s
Terry DelliQuadri, was Breezy Johnson,
who was sixth on the first GS with some
conservative skiing after going on her
side on the top pitch. But she fell on her
second run. And with the fog, no coach
actually saw what happened to her.
Lexie Skovran went out in the first run,
but skied well until where she went out.
Jessie Reinhart skied two runs to 34th
place. Andorra’s Carmina Pallas won the
girls’ GS.
