Lindsey Vonn may not have won the World Cup overall title, but she
led the league in prize money earned.
The battle between Vonn and Maria Riesch concluded with both
women earning more than men’s World Cup winner Ivica Kostelic and
having nearly double the money of Marlies Schild, the third-finishing
woman. Didier Cuche was second on the men’s list and Jean-Baptiste
Grange third.
Americans landed three among the top 10 money-winners: Julia
Mancuso was seventh among women and Ted Ligety finished seventh
among men. (Totals do not include sponsorship earnings.)
