Throughout the month of March every year, the Utah-based program She Jumps (
she-jumps.org) works with Boys and Girls Clubs across the Salt Lake Valley to bring teens who
wouldn’t otherwise be able to ski or snowboard into the Wasatch Mountains. This year,
aerialists Ashley Caldwell, Emily Cook and Hans Gardiner joined a group at Alta Ski Area.
“It was so much fun to be a part of, and reminded me why I love the sport so much,” said
Cook. “And, the kids were amazing,” said Cook.
“It was an awesome day,” added Caldwell.

Skiers Helping Japan
Julia Mancuso, Lindsey Vonn and Didier Cuche are
just a few of the World Cup skiers who have joined
Skiers Helping Japan. The organization was started by
three-time World Cup podium finisher Akira Sasaki of
Japan to raise support for the disaster recovery effort
following Japan’s devastating earthquake and tsunami.
At the World Cup Finals, athletes were photographed
with their handwritten messages to the people of Japan.
The photos are posted on the organization’s website
skiershelpingjapan.com. Mancuso also donated half of
her prize money to the cause.
