Skida’s “Friends of Liz” fashion raising
money for U.S. Ski Team’s Stephen
Skida apparel has just
launched a special, limited-edi-
tion “Friends of Liz” headwear
line to provide financial support
for U.S. Ski Team athlete and
2010 Olympian Liz Stephen of
Montpelier, Vt.
Stephen, 24, handpicked the
fleece-lined print — with fuchsia,
turquoise, black and white checks
— and Skida founder Corinne
Prevot is donating 100 percent
of the material, design, and labor
costs for the limited-edition wear.
Proceeds from a “Friends of Liz”
hat or headband purchase ($25
to $35) goes directly toward off-
setting Stephen’s costs for pur-
suing cross country ski racing.
Stephen is a seven-time U.S. na-
tional champion and, this winter,
charged to career-best results at
the 2011 FIS Nordic World Ski
Championships in Oslo, Norway,
where she piloted the U.S. to
ninth in the 4 x 5K relay and was
the top North American finisher
in the 30K free, racing to 16th
place.
Liz Stephen (front) was the
top North American finisher
in the 30K free at World
Champs.
