Color Me Fast During the U.S. Ski Team announcement in Vail, Ted Ligety was asked by a young fan if his Shred goggles really made him faster. “I did some wind tunnel testing and they are probably about 10 miles an hour faster on average, give or take, some times they’re 50 miles an hour faster,” said Ligety, deadpan. “I think it’s the brightness that makes the wind go by faster.”
