First-ever women’s World Cup race in Beaver Creek (they’ll be back on
the Birds of Prey again for the 2015 World Championships).
Lindsey Vonn’s win, her first at home in the Vail Valley, was her 46th career World Cup victory (building on her U.S. record) and moved her into a
tie with Austrian Renate Goetschl for third on the all-time wins list.
It was Vonn’s fourth consecutive World Cup win, a new U.S. record. Total
of four winning advantages: 4. 19 seconds.
Number of women previously on the Birds of Prey course on a competition day: two. Resi Stiegler foreran the men’s super G in 2007 and Mikaela
Shiffrin foreran the men’s GS the day before the women’s SG.
