called the make-up men’s GS for the Beaver Creek crowd and their banter was, shall
we say, way less politically correct than
mainstream. Nyman, of course, knew all
the guys and gave the inside point of view.
• Of Matts Olsson: “He is one of the strongest guys on the circuit, but he hasn’t got
any endurance. Let’s see if he can make it
to the bottom.”
• On Aksel Svindal: “Here comes the Norwegian Buffalo.”
• On Christof Innerhofer: “He is the pimp of
the men’s circuit.”
• About Bode’s first GS run: “I thought he
was going to bring his A game, but it looks
like he hardly brought his G.”

Some teams have more pride than others. When UVM traveled to
Colorado for early season NorAms, newbie Elise Tefre decided to
tat out the team’s rental van with a roll of green duct tape and this
unique Norwegian spelling of meow. Just don’t ask how hard it was
to scrape off the window before returning it. Mjau, Cats, mjau!
