The Canadian women had a banner day, especially on the second run
course set by their coach. Marie-Michele Gagnon, who missed a podium
opportunity when she skied out in the second run in Courchevel, brought it
all together to finish ninth for her best result of the season and her third-best
slalom result ever. Teammate Erin Mielzynski also grabbed a top- 15 result
in 14th.
“It’s funny,” said Gagnon. “I’m really happy with the result but this year I
want more. I keep wanting more. I’m slowly getting my start numbers down.
I think I still have to learn to really go for it. You could see in Courchevel that
we are a team that attacks. We just have to put it all together.”
