Poster Girl
This month, Italian World Cup rising star
Federica Brignone was named the latest
Lange girl. Brignone, who earned three
World Cup podiums this year and a world
championships silver medal last season,
joins a distinguished list of former Lange
Girls including Julia Mancuso and Dominique Gisin. “It is an honor for me to appear on this poster, especially after all the
athletes who represented the brand before
me,” said Brignone. “I think that it allows
seeing the athlete differently, without a helmet or a bodysuit. I like this new image of
Super Girl; it represents us well.”
Under Age
Just days after turning 17, American Mikaela Shiffrin was voted
the FIS alpine rookie of the year by her fellow racers. The award
was presented at a bar in Schladming during World Cup Finals.
Only trouble is that the wunderkind, who earned four top-10 finishes including one podium in her first full year on the tour, was too
young to go inside. She waited outside to pick up her trophy.
Don’t worry, Kolter,
your secret is safe with us
Bridger Bowl J5 racer Kolter Stevenson got up close and per-
sonal with the athletes at NCAA Championships when he served
as a volunteer finish-area official, responsible for keeping track of
racers as they crossed the line. When asked how he wound up
with such a high-profile job, Kolter said, “I just asked if they need-
ed any help,” before adding, “but I never signed the waiver.”
