WOMEN Kate Ryley
COLLEGIATE ALPINE SKIER OF THE YEAR
For the second year in a row, Ryley earns the
distinction of Collegiate Skier of the Year after fully
upping the ante this winter. Last year, she was the only
skier — male or female — to earn first-team All-American
honors in both events at NCAAs. This year, she took
home the slalom title and was runner-up in the GS for
the one-two punch. No other female alpine skier showed
that kind of well roundedness at the big dance. But she
also held a number of podium results throughout the
entirety of the season, including a double win at EISA
Championships. As a UVM sophomore, Ryley has two
more years ahead of her to threaten the NCAA circuit
while she also eyes more success on the NorAm level.
