One day before Nationals. A little freeskiing and time at the tuning bench.
Racing begins at NASTAR Nationals.
The event is like a combined ski racing
convention and festival, with more than
1,000 competitors from the U.S. and
abroad, multiple courses all over Winter
Park, a tent city of alpine sponsors, and a
full program of entertainment. I headed
to Winter Park’s Lower Hughes, where
the men’s and women platinum division
morning race was set to kick off.
